Hiring Millennials, When Times are Supposed to be Tough

In yesterday’s post, I told the story about a reporter who kept insisting that Millennials were changing their stripes to adapt to a difficult job market. In today’s BusinessWeek, they are saying exactly what I kept saying to the reporter. BusinessWeek reports that the average 2007 change in entry-level hiring is -2.0%. Hardly enough to even notice a difference.

The article highlights the fact that although the economy has taken its toll on middle management, many companies are continuing to hire entry-level employees-in some cases at a blistering pace. Even those that are hiring fewer emloyees for entry-level jobs are competing more intensely for the very best.

Here is the article in full: BusinessWeek article .

I’m glad I stuck to my guns!
